Superstar Prabhas is gearing up for an extremely busy 2026, with multiple high-profile film shoots lined up. According to reports, the actor is expected to begin principal photography for Kalki 2898 AD Part 2 in early February 2026, with some outlets specifically citing February 2 as the date he will return to the set of the sci-fi epic sequel. A report in MidDay confirmed the update.

This sequel to the 2024 sci-fi hit is one of Prabhas’s most anticipated projects. In Part 2, he is said to reprise his dual roles as Bhairava and Karna from the first instalment, continuing the mythological saga that has attracted audiences across India and abroad.

Meanwhile, Deepika Padukone, who played a key role in the original Kalki 2898 AD, will not be part of the sequel. Producers have officially confirmed her exit, citing the film’s demanding schedule and need for full commitment from the cast. Buzz in the industry suggests that makers are considering alternatives for her role, with actresses like Sai Pallavi being discussed as potential replacements, though nothing has been formally announced.

Prabhas is also working on Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s Spirit, a separate action drama in which Triptii Dimri has stepped in following Deepika’s departure from that project. After commencing Kalki 2 work, he is expected to return to Spirit sets around mid-February 2026, making this period one of the busiest in his career.
