Ace lyricist Javed Akhtar and Sameer have been credited as the lyricists of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's biopic, PM Narendra Modi along with Prasoon Joshi, Sameer, Abhendra Kumar Upadhyay, Sardarra Parry G and Layraj however, both, Sameer and Akhtar shocked everyone when they revealed that they have not worked on the film and now, the makers of the movie have dished out a clarification.
After he noticed his name in the credit slate, Akhtar wrote, “Am shocked to find my name on the poster of this film. Have not written any songs for it!” Sameer also denied writing any song for the film as he tweeted, "Mujhe hairat hai apana naam pm narendra Modi film me dekh karr , Maine aisi kisi film me koi gaana nahi likha hai."
After all the ruckus, the producer of the film, Sandip Ssingh wrote, "We have taken the songs 'Ishwar Allah' from the film '1947:Earth' and the song 'Suno Gaur Se Duniya Walon' from the film 'Dus' in our film, thus we have given the due credits to respective lyricists Javed Sahab and Sameer Ji. @TSeries is our Music partner. @ModiTheFilm2019."
However, it seems that Javed Akhtar's wife Shabana Azmi is not willing to buy their explanation and she slammed the makers writing, "Its quite clear this was done with deliberate intentions to mislead public into believing that @Javedakhtarjadu has written the songs for Mr PM Narendra Modi when the song Ishwar Allah Tere JahaN meiN is from @IamDeepaMehta film 1947Earth."
Directed by Omung Kumar, the film stars Vivek Oberoi in the lead role and is slated to release on April 5.
