PM Narendra Modi Mourns Irrfan Khan's Demise

publive-imageBollywood actor Irrfan Khan passed away in Mumbai's Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital on Wednesday. The actor was suffering from neuroendocrine tumour and among several others, PM Narendra Modi also offered his condolences as reports about his death surfaced.

PM Modi wrote, "Irrfan Khan’s demise is a loss to the world of cinema and theatre. He will be remembered for his versatile performances across different mediums. My thoughts are with his family, friends and admirers. May his soul rest in peace."

Rahul Gandhi also offered his condolences writing, "I’m sorry to hear about the passing of Irrfan Khan. A versatile & talented actor, he was a popular Indian brand ambassador on the global film & tv stage. He will be greatly missed. My condolences to his family, friends & fans at this time of grief."

Irrfan was admitted to the hospital on Tuesday due to colon infection. He is survived by his wife Sutapa Sikdar and sons Babil and Ayan.
