Pitch To Get Rich Episode 1 Quick Review:
RATING - ⭐ ✨ 1.5/5*
JioHotstar’s latest offering Pitch To Get Rich, featuring Karan Johar, Malaika Arora, Manish Malhotra and others, seems to be aimed at a very specific audience — one that’s far too limited. The premiere episode, unfortunately, feels more like an Indian Idol audition, where contestants arrive, make their pitch, and leave, without leaving any real impression. Even the judges’ reactions lack excitement or spontaneity.
Mirage Review: Jeethu Joseph’s Thriller Collapses Under Too Many Twists
As Karan Johar rightly pointed out, fashion is indeed a billion-dollar industry and deserves its due spotlight. But with an opening episode as dull as this, it’s hard not to lose interest. The show needed something lively, conversational, and unscripted — but none of that happens. Both the pitches and the judges’ responses feel mechanical and rehearsed.
The show often gives off that “scripted reality” vibe — a problem many such formats suffer from. Instead of bringing something fresh or inspiring, Pitch To Get Rich reduces itself to a series of predictable moments that fail to engage. Even the supposedly emotional or dramatic sequences don’t connect, as everything feels too staged to be genuine.
The only memorable segment comes from the contestant representing the “Vardi” brand, whose pitch carries a patriotic sentiment. The audience in the screening wholeheartedly applauded him, and rightfully so — it was one of the few moments that felt heartfelt and real. The rest of the fashion entrepreneurs, however, appeared nervous and camera-conscious. Their pitches, though professionally sound, lacked energy and conviction.
Overall, Pitch To Get Rich begins its journey on an underwhelming note. Perhaps future episodes featuring Akshay Kumar and other fresh faces might inject some energy into the show. But for now, this first outing feels uninspired and overly polished for its own good. While those in the fashion or business circuit might enjoy the investment aspect, mainstream audiences will likely find it a tedious watch.
