'Piku' Was Inspired By People From Director Shootjit Sircar's Life

Those who have seen the trailer of Shoojit Sircar's latest film Piku have already fallen in love with is. The most striking part about the trailer apart from Amitabh Bachchan and Deepika's bond is the Big B's character itself who is obsessed with his own bowel moments.

Shooting the film felt like a personal journey for Shoojit, whose last film was a comedy titled Vicky Donor. All the characters in the movie are inspired by characters in Shoojit's life. The director admits that the film is inspired by the writer Juhi Chaturvedi's grandfather and he has also used various incidents that have happened in his own life for the film.The director said the special feature of Piku is that it looks at everyday problems in a light-hearted way. The trailer has garnered a warm response from audiences and we definitely can't wait to watch the film. Piku features Amitabh Bachchan, Deepika Padukone and Irrfan Khan in the lead. It is slated to hit screens on May 8.
