Angad Bedi, who was last seen in Salman Khan starrer Tiger Zinda Hai, is now training hard for his next, Soorma, which also stars Diljit Dosanjh and Taapsee Pannu.
The film is based on the life of celebrated Indian hockey player, Sandeep Singh and while Diljit is playing the protagonist, Angad is essaying the role of his elder brother and the latter is training rigorously in akhadas to get into the skin of his character.
Angad said, “At 17 only, I started training in the gym. The gym was more like desi style where for the first time I learned weightlifting and bodybuilding exercises. The gym here is not a fancy one, but it’s completely like an akhada. The equipment is desi but all the types of equipment are there. It’s great to be in a situation where you train in a complete old style environment. We are getting personally trained by Sandeep and Bikramjeet, we are also getting trained with the main exercises required for hockey in the same gym. It’s different but it is something new to learn and I am enjoying every bit of it.”
Directed by Shaad Ali, Soorma is slated to release on June 29.
