Veteran Tamil actor, Poo Ramu, passed away last evening at the age of 60. The actor was admitted to Rajiv Gandhi Government, Chennai, after suffering from a cardiac arrest on Friday. Poo Ram was seen in popular classics like Periyerum Perumal (2019), Peranbu (2019), Soorarai Pottru (2020) and Karnan (2021).
The Peranbu actor, Mammootty, tweeted, "Saddened to hear the demise of one of the finest artists in Tamil cinema #PooRamu . Heartfelt condolences to his family & dear ones & Thank you for being a part of #NanpakalNerathuMayakkam"

The Hon. Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, Mr. MK Stalin, has shared his grief over Poo Ramu's demise. The tweet by the official handle of CMO Tamil Nadu reads (translation), "Hon'ble Chief Minister MK Stalin has condoled the death of actor comrade Poo Ramu due to ill health."
