Speaking to TOI, the lawyer stated, "They did not deliver the story, screenplay, or a draft of a long-form agreement, which was fundamental to the engagement of our client. In the absence of these, and since Mr. Nadiadwala, the producer of the original films, issued a notice to our client raising concerns about the film's production, our client chose to exit and returned the money with interest by terminating the term sheet. Initially, they accepted the funds, but later, unfortunately, sent an untenable notice to our client when they were aware that nothing was ready, so there could never be any loss."

The report further states that producer Firoz Nadiadwala has sent legal notices to all three leading actors: Akshay Kumar, Paresh Rawal, and Suniel Shetty. "He has sent legal notices to Akshay Kumar, Priyadarshan, Suniel Shetty, and Paresh Rawal. The legal notice issued requested all of them to refrain from doing any promos, endorsements, or activities related to the Hera Pheri franchise. It also stated that if they proceed with these activities, it will be considered a willful breach. Additionally, the notice mentioned that the intellectual property of all the characters, including Babu Bhaiya, is owned by Nadiadwala."
