Actress Poonam Dhillon was robbed by a man of a diamond ring worth Rs. 1 lakh and a cash amount of Rs. 35,000. A painter, who came as a member of the painter's team at her house in Khar, stole a diamond ring and cash from her cupboard.

Poonam Dhillon has a house in Juhu but often stays at her son Anmol's house in Khar. Since Anmol was in Dubai, she decided to finish the house painting work before his return. One of the painters took advantage of the situation and stole a diamond ring and Rs. 35,000 in cash. He was in the house for almost a week from December 28 to January 5 and had been looking for the right time to commit the crime. He finally got that opportunity on January 5 when he saw an unlocked cupboard and decided to steal the items.

Anmol returned home on the night of January 5 and noticed an open cupboard. When he checked, he saw that the ring and some cash were missing. He spoke to his mother and then filed a complaint at the Khar police station. The police arrested the painter on January 6, and he has been identified as Sameer Ansari.

During police interrogation, Sameer Ansari admitted to the crime. He said that he spent Rs. 9,000 on a party for his painter friends, who were with him in the house but did not know about his crime. Actress Poonam Dhillon and her son have not yet given an official statement to the media on this matter.
