An Oscar award winner from Hollywood has officially opted for a new twist of spirituality. Julia Roberts, Hollywood hot shot who was in India to film 'Eat, Pray and Love' converted to Hinduism last September, and is now a "practicing Hindu."

An ever curious paparazzi following the deeply spiritual Roberts has framed her in snapshots alongside her spiritual guru Swami Shri Dharam at the Ashram Hari Mandir in Pataudi, sporting a garland and a red 'teeka' on her celeb forehead.

Earlier, however, Roberts had angered the Hindus at Pataudi, on the eve of Navaratri when they were barred from entering the temple, owing to her canning sequences for 'Eat, Pray and Love' armed with 350 guards, bullet proof cars and a helicopter.

Born to a Catholic and Baptist couple in the Bible belt of the US, now admits to being at peace having embraced the new faith.

"I'm definitely a practicing Hindu," states Roberts in a media chat. "I've been so spoilt with my friends and family in this life. Next time (since Hinduism believes in rebirth) I want to be just something quiet and supporting after the stresses of my celebrity life."

Reportedly, Roberts now goes to a temple in Los Angeles together with her cameraman husband Daniel Moder and their children to "chant, pray and celebrate on a regular basis."

Roberts, who stayed at the Pataudi Palace in Gurgaon along with her three children, during the filming experience of 'EPAL', also confesses to a clear proclivity for Indian delicacies, expressly chicken curry 'paneer' rice and 'dal makhani'.
