Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan has officially confirmed his collaboration with acclaimed Tamil filmmaker Lokesh Kanagaraj for an upcoming film, marking a massive North-South cinema crossover. The actor revealed that the project is locked and will start shooting in mid-2026, after he completes his work on Rajkumar Hirani’s next directorial—a biopic of Dadasaheb Phalke.

Though speculation is rife that the film could be a superhero saga—something never attempted by the duo—Aamir chose to remain tight-lipped when asked about the genre. “It’s too early to talk about the storyline, but I’m excited to collaborate with Lokesh. We start shooting mid-next year, and it will be a big event movie," he said.

Aamir also confirmed that he will be starting his next film with Rajkumar Hirani later this year.
