O Romeo Weekend Box Office:

O Romeo has recorded a below par opening weekend at the box office. The film collected approximately ₹8 crore nett on Sunday, which is almost a 30% drop compared to its Saturday earnings. This decline has raised concerns, especially for a film mounted on a sizeable budget.

Mrunal Thakur on Wedding Reports With Dhanush: "Even Spending 10 Crore Wouldn't Give Me This Much Publicity" –

The major reason behind Sunday’s dip appears to be the high-voltage India vs Pakistan cricket match, which affected the evening and night shows across several centres. Big cricket clashes often impact footfalls, and O Romeo seems to have felt that pressure.

The film opened with ₹7.75 crore on Friday, followed by a jump to ₹11 crore on Saturday. However, the Sunday drop brought the momentum down. The total opening weekend collection now stands at approximately ₹26.75 crore nett.

For a film of this scale, the weekend number is considered on the lower side. The coming weekdays will be crucial. The makers have already introduced Buy 1 Get 1 ticket offers to boost occupancy, which indicates that sustaining collections may be challenging.

At this point, crossing the ₹40 crore nett mark in the first week looks like a more realistic expectation. However, even if it reaches that figure, the film will still need strong and consistent collections in the following weeks to recover its costs.

Unless O Romeo shows a surprising upward trend from Monday onwards, achieving a HIT status at the box office appears unlikely under the current scenario.

In our review, we wrote:

"Many long films have justified their runtime with strong writing and gripping storytelling. But it becomes a serious problem when there simply isn’t enough material to sustain the narrative. O Romeo suffers exactly there. It is overlong, tedious, and painfully boring. By the time the interval arrives, you feel like you have already watched a full film. By the time it finally ends, it feels as though you’ve endured a second one. Logic repeatedly dies in Bhardwaj’s directorial venture. Characters who appear dead return with a dramatic expression labeled “Miracle!” A man survives a bullet shot right in the center of his neck. Really? Is this truly a Vishal Bhardwaj film, or has someone completely diluted his sensibilities? The screenplay leaves you questioning not just the characters but the filmmaker’s judgment."
