Akshay Kumar's OMG 2 has finally been passed by the censor board, but with an "A" certificate. However, there are no cuts, but modifications in the film. The makers had the choice of an U/A certificate, but they didn't want to spoil the context of the film. The makers are gearing up for the August 11 release now and will start a promotional campaign within the next 48 hours.
The revising committee, which had earlier seen the film, had recommended a few cuts and modifications to the film. According to sources close to the production, the film has now been passed without any deletions. "There are no cuts in the film; only a few modifications were made, which the makers discussed with the censor board members."
The film has received an Adult certification. "For a UA certificate, the committee was asking for a lot of cuts. The makers didn’t want to compromise the sanctity of the film. So they chose to go with an adult certification while keeping the integrity of the film intact and also adhering to and respecting the norms of the censor board," revealed a source.
