New probe in Disha Salian's case:

Sushant Singh Rajput passed away in June 2020 when he was found hanging at his home. A week before that, SSR's manager, Disha Salian, was found dead after allegedly jumping from a balcony. The agencies investigated various angles of suicide as well as homicide but couldn't build a concrete case for foul play. Now, after five years, Disha's father has called for a new probe into the case regarding his daughter's suspicious death and is demanding justice for her.

Disha's father, Satish Salian, approached the Bombay High Court to hand over the case to the CBI and initiate a new, thorough investigation into his daughter's case. According to a report by PTI, Mr. Salian has requested the registration of an FIR against political leader Mr. Aditya Thackeray (from UBT Shiv Sena) before transferring the case to the CBI.

The Salian family reiterated the same allegations in the fresh plea, asserting that their daughter was brutally raped and then murdered. "The Mumbai police hastily closed the death case as a suicide or accidental death without considering forensic evidence, circumstantial proof, and eyewitness testimonies," reads the highlights of the plea.
