Netflix's series Rakt Bramhand stalled:
Netflix's ambitious big-budget Indian fantasy series Rakt Bramhand, starring Aditya Roy Kapur, Samantha Ruth Prabhu, Wamiqa Gabbi, and Ali Fazal, has reportedly hit a massive roadblock. Despite being announced with much fanfare and backed by a reported budget of ₹200 crore, the Raj & DK-led project has now been placed on indefinite hold, casting serious doubt on its future, says a report from PeepingMoon.
According to sources close to the production, the project has stalled due to financial concerns, and Netflix is now reconsidering whether to proceed at all. "About two weeks ago, Netflix held a closed-door meeting with creators Raj & DK and the new executive producer, who has previously worked with Aamir Khan's and Farhan Akhtar's banners. They examined the existing budget and the actual costs required to move forward. The figures simply failed to align. Netflix has already incurred significant losses from earlier shoots—much of which needs to be reshot anyway—and they’re unwilling to invest further in what’s already deemed high-risk," a source close to the development revealed.

Another insider added, "They are now required to reshoot everything from scratch, which means the 26 days of footage already filmed will be discarded. This adds a significant financial burden on a project that was already estimated to cost around ₹200 crore. Netflix has a history of abandoning projects to mitigate long-term losses even after considerable investment, and they seem to be heading in that same direction for Rakt Bramhand as well."
While Netflix has yet to make an official announcement, the ongoing uncertainty surrounding the show and its spiraling costs indicate that Rakt Bramhand may soon join the list of high-profile cancellations.
