An Abbas Burmawalla and Mustan Burmawalla flick is bound to have some heavy-duty action scenes and shooting for Players is not an easy 'game' (pun unintended), which Neil Nitin Mukesh discovered the hard way.

Sources claim that the actor, who had been shooting for some sequences of the official remake of The Italian Job in Russia, not only suffered frostbite due to the extremely cold weather but also ended up fracturing a finger. However, not one to give up so easily, the New York star nevertheless shot for about two weeks with a fractured finger rather than inconvenience the team by halting the schedule.

Confirming the incident, director Abbas said, "Neil's finger was in bad shape and the doctor recommended operation. A very heavy object fell on his finger during a fight scene and though we did not think it would get so bad, by the end of that day he was in a lot of pain. However, Neil somehow convinced the make- up artistes to cover the injury so it wouldn't be visible. He waited for another 15 days post the injury to be able to fix the damage."

A remake of the Hollywood heist film, The Italian Job, Players stars Abhishek Bachchan, Sonam Kapoor, Neil Nitin Mukesh, Bipasha Basu, Bobby Deol, Sikander Kher and Omi Vaidya. The film is slated to release on January 6, 2012.
