NCP Minister Jitendra Awhad To Make A Biopic Of Rajarshi Shahu Maharaj

Mr. Jitendra Awhad, NCP leader, politician and minister, has decided to make a biopic of Chhatrapati Rajarshi Shahu Maharaj. In recent times, historical films are being made on a large scale in the Marathi film industry, and even the audience seems to appreciate it wholeheartedly. Now there's one more to add to the list, and it's none other than Rajarshi Shahu Maharaj's biopic, titled Shahu Chhatrapati.

Rajarshi Shahu Maharaj is a popular name in Maharashtra as well as in our country, India. He was known as an honest and public-welfare king. In his time, Rajarshi Shahu was considered a democrat and social reformer, and his rule saw the implementation of progressive policies such as an embryonic reservation system for lower caste and non-caste groups and expanding access to education regardless of caste and creed.The film seeks to bring to the notice of the masses the life work of Chhatrapati Shahu Maharaj, who fought for the upliftment of Bahujan Samaj during British rule and played an important role in the development of Dalit and backward classes despite the opposition of the Sanatani classes.

The life story of Shahu Chhatrapati will be presented by Dr. Jitendra Awhad, and is written by Dr. Jaysingrao Pawar, based on decades of research. The film will be directed by young director Varun Sukhraj, and is being produced by Vidroh Films.
