nawaz-bio-1Nawazuddin Siddiqui opened a can of worms when he revealed excerpts of his memoir An Ordinary Life, which caused a complaint to be registered against him for outraging the modesty of a woman and after facing flak for the same, the actor has decided to withdraw the book.

Taking to his Twitter page, Nawaz wrote, “I'm apologising 2 every1 who's sentiments r hurt bcz of d chaos around my memoir #AnOrdinaryLife (sic). I hereby regret & decide 2 withdraw my book.” In the book co-authored by journalist Rituparna Chatterjee, Siddiqui has not only revealed intimate details of his affair with his Miss Lovely co-star Niharika Singh but also stated that his first girlfriend and actress Sunita Rajwar left him because she wanted to date someone successful, not a struggling, desperate actor who was out of work. After some excerpts were released recently, both Singh and Rajwar came down heavily on Siddiqui for distorting facts.

Now, a Delhi-based advocate, Gautam Gulati has filed a complaint with National Commission for Women (NCW) against Nawaz for outraging Niharika’s modesty.

Gulati says that he doesn’t know Niharika personally but he has filed a complaint with NCW with a request to give direction for the registration of FIR under sections 376 (rape), 497 (adultery) and 509 (insulting the modesty of a woman) of IPC. He says that Nawaz was married when he was in a relationship with Niharika and had kept her in the dark.
