Nawazuddin Siddiqui, who is undoubtedly one of the most talented actors that the industry has today, recently revealed that he has imitated Piyush Mishra in his upcoming movie Mom.
Nawaz’s character has a strong North Indian accent and he took inspiration from Mishra, whom he knows since his National School of Drama days, to make his character sound authentic.
Nawazuddin says, “When I was shooting for the movie in Delhi on the first day, after I was done with the makeup and getting ready for the shot, I suddenly thought about Piyush Mishra. I knew my character had to have a heavy North Indian accent, so I thought I could imitate him to see if it works. Surprisingly, when I started imitating him, it went well with the look and the character. I know him in real life, and meet him often. I also worked with him in Gangs of Wasseypur (2012), so I have observed his work. He is multi-talented and inspires me as an actor. In fact, we would all copy him when I was studying at the National School of Drama.”
Mom also stars Sridevi and Akshaye Khanna and is slated to release on July 7.
