Casting director Honey Trehan, who was initially supposed to make his directorial debut with a gangster drama starring Irrfan Khan and Deepika Padukone before Vishal Bhardwaj decided to take up the reins of the film, will now make his directorial debut with another crime thriller.

We have learned that Honey, who has previously assisted Vishal Bhardwaj on films such as Maqbool, Omkara, Kaminey and 7 Khoon Maaf, will direct a crime thriller set in the interiors of India and that Nawazuddin Siddiqui will play the lead in it. Sources claim that Nawaz has really liked the script and has given his nod to the film but is yet to sign on the dotted line. Meanwhile, Honey has reportedly begun work on the preproduction and is on the lookout for his leading lady. The film is slated to go on floors early next year.

Nawaz will be next seen in biopics Thackeray and Manto.
