On one hand, where Bollywood celebs have spoken in support of actor Sanjay Dutt, who was recently convicted by the Supreme Court and sentenced to five years imprisonment, veteran actor Nana Patekar, known for speaking his mind out, said that Sanjay should face the consequences of his actions.
In a candid interview, Nana said that the Court has sentenced Sanjay to imprisonment and he should undergo it. He said that he does not understand why others are requesting that his case be treated leniently and further added that as an actor, he would never work with him or even watch his films. He said that’s the most he can punish Dutt as an actor. Not only that, Nana also added that he does not consider Sanjay a personal enemy, but what he has done cannot be forgotten either and that just because he is an actor, he should not get special treatment.
The Supreme Court upheld Sanjay’s conviction under the Arms Act and he was sentenced to five years in prison. As the actor has already spent 18 months behind bars, he would be liable to only serve three and a half years of the remaining term. Sanjay’s lawyers filed a review petition in the Supreme Court on Friday.
