Mukesh Chhabra on Ranbir Kapoor's casting in Ramayana:
Ranbir Kapoor is all set to portray Lord Ram in Nitesh Tiwari's much-awaited pan-India epic film Ramayana. The film, which is currently under production, is one of the most ambitious mythological projects in Indian cinema. Ranbir has been preparing intensely for the role, both physically and mentally, to do justice to the character of Maryada Purushottam Ram. His transformation and commitment have already created a lot of buzz among fans and industry insiders alike.
Casting director Mukesh Chhabra recently praised Ranbir's casting in the film during a conversation with YouTuber Ranveer Allahabadia. "There’s this innocence, a calmness on his face—which was needed. There’s a child in him, and it shows," said Mukesh.

He further added, "When it comes to acting, you can’t beat him. He's very neutral—he doesn’t get affected by hits or flops. He lives in his own world. He just wants to act."

Apart from Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Ram, the film also stars Sai Pallavi as Sita and Yash as the antagonist Ravana. The film is being directed by Nitesh Tiwari and will be released in two parts on Diwali 2026 and Diwali 2027, respectively. With a grand scale, VFX-heavy production, huge budget and a stellar cast, Ramayana is one of the most anticipated films of the coming year. Will it worth the wait?
