Salman Khan and Akshay Kumar's hilarious chemistry in Mujhse Shaadi Karogi (2004) is still remembered by fans. Many have been waiting for the sequel and the return of the duo for years, but things didn't materialize. Now, there seems to be some hope for Mujhse Shaadi Karogi 2, but the original duo won't be returning this time.

A few days ago, a report in Pinkvilla shared that the writing process for Mujhse Shaadi Karogi has begun, and if the team is happy with the script, they will proceed with the casting process. Today, a report in Midday suggests the names of Kartik Aaryan and Varun Dhawan to replace Salman Khan and Akshay Kumar.

"Sajid is keen on recreating the comedy and chaos of the original, but with a contemporary twist. Kartik and Varun are known for their comic timing and are frontrunners for the roles. Together, they could be a riot on screen. But the scripting has only begun, and Sajid will make a decision on the casting after he is satisfied with the script," said an insider.

The source further added that the cast will be finalized by the year-end. “Aligning Kartik and Varun’s dates will be tough, given their busy schedules. The makers are aiming for a late 2026 release."
