Mufasa The Lion King India box office:
Disney's latest release, Mufasa The Lion, has achieved good results in India. The film has become a box office HIT in India and is now heading towards the Rs. 100 crore nett club as the New Year holidays are just around the corner. To everyone’s surprise, Mufasa has fared much better than the new Hindi release Baby John and will continue to do better.
Mufasa: The Lion King, which is a follow-up to Disney's previous hit in India, The Lion King (2019), opened lower than its predecessor but showed a good hold on weekdays. As the holiday season began on Christmas, the film saw an upward trend and collected more than the new release Baby John. It will continue a steady run until the New Year holidays are over, and it will be enough to make its entry into the 100 crore club. Disney and Marvel's Deadpool and Wolverine has accomplished that in 2024, so the Barry Jenkins flick will be the second Hollywood movie to do so.

The live-action flick has performed better in South markets, with Nizam/Andhra and Tamil Nadu doing well. The film picked up in Mumbai and Delhi from Christmas as multiplexes were filled with family audiences. It didn't perform as strongly in mass pockets, though, but that was expected.
