publive-imageAfter her victory at the Ms. International World pageant in the USA last year, Dr. Akshata Prabhu was all set to conduct the grand finale of her own homegrown pageant platform, The International Glamour Project TM, a social initiative born out of an idea of inclusivity and diversity in order to break stereotypes. Like any pageant, The International Glamour Project TM was gearing up to finalise its jury members for Season 1, and a lot of thought went into the hand-curated panel. One judge that stood out was the celebrity judge, Celina Jaitly.publive-image"Celina just seemed like the perfect choice. She is one exceptional woman who has seen it all, right from her teens when she was spotted by her mentor at Femina Miss India while on her way to a shoot, to bagging the title of Miss India, followed by the runner-up position at Miss Universe in 2001. After that, she had an extremely flourishing Bollywood career. It was no surprise that even after the birth of her 3 kids ( twin sons and a boy), she still continues to be an avid Equality Rights champion, an ambassador for the UN, and her vocal support for the LGBTQ+ community. How could this not make her the perfect choice for all that our platform stands for!" Dr. Prabhu recalled all the reasons why Celina was chosen by the panel.

"The other celebrity judges along with Celina on the panel were Dr. Aditi Govitrikar (Mrs. World 2000), Sabira Merchant (mentor to former beauty queens, Priyanka Chopra and Lara Dutta), Yuvraj Walmiki (National Hockey Player) & Dr. Radhakrishna Pillai (author of the best-seller, "Corporate Chanakya"),", added Dr. Swaroop Puranik, Managing Director of The International Glamour ProjectTM.publive-image"What I loved most about Celina was that she listened to each contestant with equal respect. There was more to their performance than just their looks or stage presence; there was also a backstory, their struggles, and their ability to rise above challenges and transform themselves into queens that marked their progress," Dr. Prabhu added.

"As we receive thousands of applications, we know that no two contestants are the same, and it was heartening to see that Celina understood and valued that as well." Dr Swaroop Puranik mentioned how difficult it is to judge so many women of substance, but Celina and the other panel members made a justifiable decision.
