Bollywood actress Mouni Roy has come forward with a harrowing account of harassment she allegedly faced during a recent performance at a private event in Karnal, Haryana. Taking to her Instagram Stories, Roy detailed that what began as a celebratory appearance turned into a distressing experience due to the inappropriate behaviour of audience members, including elderly men.

According to the actor, as she walked toward the stage, several male guests placed their hands on her waist under the pretext of taking photographs — behaviour she objected to politely. Despite expressing discomfort and asking them to remove their hands, the conduct reportedly continued.

Roy further alleged that once on stage, the situation escalated. She recounted that two men standing at the front made lewd comments, obscene hand gestures, and resorted to name-calling, making her feel unsafe and humiliated. Attempts to address the behaviour or have the individuals removed were allegedly ignored by both organisers and other attendees.

In her statement, the actress described feeling “humiliated” and “traumatised” by the incident and shared that the men even recorded her from low angles, adding to her discomfort. She emphasised the importance of respect and safety for performers, particularly women, and called on authorities to take action to prevent such behaviour in the future. This is serious matter and needs to be looked at sensitively by all the Bollywood actresses who go out for events and concerts.
