In a recent interview to a tabloid, veteran singer Lata Mangeshkar claimed that legendary singer Mohammed Rafi, who died in 1980, had written an apology letter to her. However the late singer's son Shahid Rafi has rubbished her claims saying that it's mere publicity stunt.

Talking to the media Shahid said, "Being his son, I'm speaking on behalf of myself, my family, friends and fans of Rafi saab. My point is that if Rafi saab has written an apology letter, prove it, produce the letter print it publicly. If you have received a letter from Rafi saab, who is a legend, you should preserve that letter. If she produces that letter, I'll publicly apologise."

"My father was a national figure his fan following is much more than any other artist in the industry, I would say. So may be she is insecure of that," he further added.

Shahid also revealed that he is contemplating legal action against Mangeshkar. "I will give her 8-10 days to show that letter, after that I may take legal action against her, I'll take legal opinions too."

Lata Mangeshkar has not made any comment on the issue yet.
