Mission Mangal’ V/S ‘Batla House Mission Mangal’ V/S ‘Batla House

This Independence Day witnessed two big releases at the box-office, with Akshay Kumar, Vidya Balan, Taapsee Pannu, Sonakshi Sinha starrer ‘Mission Mangal’ and John Abraham, Mrunal Thakur starrer ‘Batla House’. On the opening day ‘Mission Mangal’ outperformed ‘Batla House’ with a collection of around 27-28 crore net while 'Batla House' earned around 13-14 crore net.

On day 2 ‘Mission Mangal’ has witnessed a 40 percent decline at the box-office and has collected Rs. Rs 17.28 crore, with which its has managed to do a total collection of Rs 46.44 crore on its first two days. Whereas, John Abraham starrer ‘Batla House’ opened with a collection of Rs. 15.55 crore on Thursday and witnessed a 43 percent drop on its day 2. It has managed to make a business of Rs 8.84 crore on its day 2, which added up to a total collection of Rs 24.39 crore from its first two days.

With both the films getting good critics reviews and word of mouth from the audience, it is expected to do a better business over the weekends.

Directed by Jagan Shakti, ‘Mission Mangal’ is a space drama that narrates the tale of how India made their commendable achievements in space, with the Mars Orbiter Mission. Whereas, ‘Batla House’ is cop thriller based on the real life incidences that took place in 2008, at Batla House locality in Jamia Nagar, Delhi. Where a controversial encounter took place against the Indian Mujahideen terrorists by Delhi Police.
