Mika Singh
A press conference was hosted by Mika Singh and Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE), the mother body of all the 24 crafts of filmmaking, to announce abolition of ban on Mika Singh for his controversial performance in Pakistan. Mika Singh got into an argument with a journalist at the press conference, who questioned him on why he went to Pakistan to perform, when the tensions between both the countries is at the peak.
Mika backfired the journalist and counter questioned him, on why no one raised their voices when other singers like Neha Kakkar, Sonu Nigam and Atif Aslam performed in Pakistan two months ago. He further made an allegation that an attempt is being made to garner publicity in his name.
Mika went on to say that he could only go there because the government issued the visa to him. The singer also complained and said, "Indian singers do not get work while Pakistani singers don't miss the opportunity."
All India Cine Workers Association (AICWA) has also imposed ban on Mika Singh and his 14 members troupe, for performing at the pre wedding ceremony of a relative close to former Pakistan President, Gen Pervez Musharraf.
