Metro In Dino Box Office: Shows Almost 60% Jump on Tuesday –
Anurag Basu's urban romantic drama, Metro In Dino, sees a healthy jump on second tuesday, making it a steady performer at the box office (Movie Talkies).
Anurag Basu’s ensemble romantic drama Metro In Dino is showing signs of a steady hold at the box office, especially in urban centres and multiplexes. The film recorded a notable 60% jump in collections on its second Tuesday, earning ₹1.90 crore nett, compared to ₹1.25 crore nett on Monday.
The film collected a respectable ₹25.45 crore nett in its first week. The second weekend added another ₹10.75 crore nett to the tally, and with the jump on Tuesday, Metro In Dino is inching closer to the ₹40 crore nett mark. The upward trend on a weekday reflects the film’s decent word-of-mouth, particularly in metro cities where the storytelling and ensemble cast have found an audience. Also, the Tuesday offers in cinemas are drawing more crowds then any other weekday in recent times.
Metro In Dino
Below are the collections of Metro In Dino in India:
First Week - 25.45 crore nett
Second Weekend - 10.75 crore nett
Second Monday - 1.25 crore nett
Second Tuesday - 1.90 crore nett
Total - 39.35 crore nett approx.
While the film is holding well in multiplex chains, especially in cities like Mumbai, Delhi, and Bangalore, the mass belts haven’t contributed much to its overall business. Single screens and Tier 2-3 centres remained low, which has kept the film from achieving bigger numbers. Still, the film’s stability during weekdays is a good sign and gives it hope for a longer run.
Metro In Dino features a talented ensemble cast including Aditya Roy Kapur, Sara Ali Khan, Anupam Kher, Neena Gupta, Pankaj Tripathi, Konkona Sen Sharma, Fatima Sana Shaikh, and Ali Fazal. Their performances, along with Anurag Basu’s signature narrative style, seem to be clicking with a section of the audience, particularly the multiplex crowd.
