Mastiii 4, directed by Milap Zaveri, has turned out to be a major disappointment at the box office. The film brings back the original trio — Riteish Deshmukh, Aftab Shivdasani and Vivek Oberoi — hoping to recreate the old charm of the franchise. The movie also stars Shreya Sharma, Elnaaz Norouzi, and Ruhi Singh, and Arshad Warsi and Tusshar Kapoor in cameo roles. However, none of it could help the film attract the audience.

The adult comedy opened to a dull response. Throughout the first week, it managed to collect only ₹11.50 crore nett, which is extremely low considering that its a franchise movie. The collections fell further during the second weekend, adding barely ₹60 lakhs more. At this pace, the movie is expected to end its lifetime run around ₹13 crore nett — making it the lowest-grossing film in the entire Masti series.

The franchise had a much better history earlier:

• Masti (2004) — ₹20.28 crore nett (Hit)

• Grand Masti (2013) — ₹91.65 crore nett (Super Hit)

• Great Grand Masti (2016) — ₹14.30 crore nett (Disaster)

• Mastiii 4 (2025) — ₹13 crore nett expected (Disaster)

While Great Grand Masti had already shown signs of franchise fatigue, Mastiii 4 has sunk even further. Poor reviews, outdated humour and lack of strong word-of-mouth seem to be the biggest reasons behind its downfall.

With Mastiii 4 now labeled a huge box office disaster, the future of the Masti franchise looks uncertain. Fans who once enjoyed the adult comedy now appear to have moved on, leaving this sequel struggling to survive in cinemas.
