Malayalam Film Jallikattu Is India’s Official Entry For Oscars 2021

Malayalam film Jallikattu has been selected as India’s official entry for the 93rd Academy Awards in the Best International Film Category.

The Lijo Jose Pellisery-directed movie left behind 27 other films like Chhapaak, Gunjan Saxena, The Disciple, AK Vs AK and The Sky Is Pink among others. The Film Federation of India chose the film as it brings out the ‘raw side of human beings’ and ‘moved’ the jury.

The film is based on S Hareesh’s short story Maoist and it stars Antony Varghese, Chemban Vinod Jose, Sabumon Abdusamad and Santhy Balachandran.
