Tollywood actor Mahesh Babu, who is currently busy working with SS Rajamouli on his upcoming action-adventure drama, has landed in legal trouble related to money business. The actor has been summoned by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in a money laundering case.

 

Mahesh Babu Money Laundering case:

The money laundering case is related to a real estate firm from Hyderabad. Sai Surya Developers and the Surana Group paid a total amount of Rs. 5.9 crores to Mahesh Babu for brand endorsements. Now, the said firm has been accused of money scams.

On April 16, the Enforcement Directorate's Hyderabad Zonal Office conducted searches at four premises across Hyderabad and Secunderabad under the provisions of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA), 2002. The operation resulted in the seizure of incriminating documents and the unearthing of unaccounted financial transactions amounting to approximately Rs 100 crores. Among the findings was Rs 74.5 lakh in cash.

The actor has been summoned by the ED for promoting controversial projects that led many people to purchase property and lose money. The firm took money from people and then sold the same land to multiple individuals, duping them. The actor has been called to appear before the officials on April 27, 2025.
