Lyricist-Singer Ajay Jhingran Passes Away, Bollywood Mourns His Death

Noted Bollywood lyricist and singer Ajay Jhingran passed away on Wednesday. Reportedly, the talented musician suffered from a massive cardiac arrest at his house in Mumbai, on Wednesday morning. The 42-year-old was rushed to the hospital but was declared dead on arrival by the doctors.

Born and brought up in Sahranpur, Ajay had written lyrics for songs of films like Hazaaron Khwaishein Aisi, Page 3, Billu, Rakht and Welcome To Sajjanpur among others. He had also penned the lyrics of  Sonu Niigam’s chartbuster bijuria. Bollywood celebs took to Twitter to mourn the artistes death writing:

Sonu Nigam: “Friends, as I spoke abt sleeping forever this morning, a very beautiful artiste slept forever at 11am today. Ajay Jhingran, d lyricist.. Ajay Jhingran was just 42. Wrkd 4 d frst time wth me in Sanskar, my spiritual album in 1999. Then my album Mausam. Bijuria was writn by him.”

Shweta Pandit: “Deeply saddened by the passing of my dearest kindest brother Ajay Jhingran. Last met on Rakhi. A huge loss of great talent and genuine love!”

Aditi Rao Hydari: “A fabulous singer- man ye bawara and khoye khoye chand,composed a song for my film ye saali zindagi,passed away today :( RIP Ajay jhingran”

Nikhil Advani: “Conversations over adrak chai watching the rain fall in araam nagar will never be the same. RIP Ajay Jhingran. Your laugh will still echo.”

Shama Sikandar: “Musafir hoon yaron n ghar hai n thikana , lookng at ur pictures still cnt believe ur gone sir @ajayjhingran RIP...:-(.”
