Love and War Goes Over-Budget:
The upcoming Bollywood movie Love and War is reportedly facing a significant budget escalation, with production costs now estimated at a massive ₹425 crore. According to a report by Variety portal, the ambitious period drama starring Ranbir Kapoor, Vicky Kaushal, and Alia Bhatt has seen its schedule stretch well beyond the original plan.
Industry sources reveal that the film was initially slated to wrap up within 120 days. However, in line with director Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s trademark pursuit of visual perfection, the shoot has repeatedly extended. The production has already completed nearly 175 days of filming, and key portions remain unfinished.

Three songs and a major dramatic sequence are still pending, which is expected to push the shoot by another two months. The film’s large-scale war sequences, mounted with an epic and highly detailed visual approach, are believed to be the primary reason behind the delay. Bhansali, known for his meticulous filmmaking style and grand sets, is reportedly leaving no stone unturned to achieve the desired cinematic spectacle.
Despite the ballooning budget and extended timeline, trade insiders suggest the makers remain confident about the film’s box office potential, given its star power and Bhansali’s strong track record with lavish period dramas. But is recovery possible with this much production cost and the genre of the film? It will be very difficult battle at the box office for sure. Moreover, the continuous delays in making and release date are making things a little messy for the fans. Let's see how it fares and when it will be ready for release.
