Legendary singer Manna Dey, known for his tracks such as Poocho Na Kaise Maine (Meri Surat Teri Aankhen), Ae Meri Zohra Jabeen (Waqt), Zindagi Kaisi Hai Paheli (Anand), Yeh Dosti (Sholay) and Ek Chatur Naar (Padosan), had been admitted to a hospital in Bangalore for chest infection treatment around two weeks back, but will now be discharged in a few days, it seems.

Doctors treating him have now said that his condition is stable and that he would be discharged in a few days. Sources said that Dey, who stays with his younger daughter in Kalyan Nagar, East Bangalore, was in a critical condition when admitted 15 days ago. Though the hospital authorities said that Dey's condition is stable, they refused to say anything on the 94-year-old's ailments, citing instructions from family members.

Born on May 1, 1919, Manna Dey has sung more than 3,500 songs in 16 languages in a career spanning 70 years.
