Veteran British actor Sir Christopher Lee, known for his roles in Dracula and Star Wars, passed away at the age of 93 at a hospital in London, where he had been admitted for respiratory problems.
Lee shot to fame with his role as a vampire in the 1958 film Dracula and then went on to reprise the role in other vampire films throughout the 1960s. Lee also played Saruman in the The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit movies as well as Count Dooku in two Star Wars films.
Lee, who was knighted in 2009, is survived by his wife Birgit, whom he married in 1961, and their daughter, Christina.
