Leena Chandavarkar: 'It's never too late to start a Kishore Kumar website?'

At the website launch of Kishore Kumar convened at suburban Mumbai, famed poet-lyricist Javed Akhtar did the honours. The late playback legend's spouse Leena Chandavarkar was in an emotional mode, with Amit Kumar too beaming away.

"I have no words to express my happiness," declared the former actress turning a tad sentimental. "I'd just like to thank all those people who have come here. My contribution to the website is that I'm a part of the whole gang. In fact, some time back I had done some dummy words for Amit Kumar's album. I was quite shocked when my words got shocked when they were selected for the final version! Amit feels that I write well and that I should encourage this talent of mine to the fullest. I do write songs too."

Never mind the rash of websites inundating virtual space, Leena feels that the timing was apt. "I don't think any step in creativity is too late," she asserted. "It's never too late to start a website on Kishore Kumar. Any kind of art and especially music, I don't think that one can predict what's going to show up suddenly. The idea of the website was primarily Amit's and I don't know much about the technology aspect of it. What I do know is that Kishore Kumar knew how to reach the hearts of people."
