Laxman Utekar - Shraddha Kapoor's Next Titled Eetha:

After the huge success of Chhaava, director Laxman Utekar has begun work on his next ambitious project — a biopic based on the life of legendary Marathi Tamasha artist, Vithabai. The film, which was earlier titled Vittha, has now been officially renamed EETHA.

The new title is inspired by the local pronunciation of “Vittha” in rural Maharashtra, where it is often spoken as Eetha. The film’s title was revealed through a viral clapboard photo shared from the movie’s sets, sparking excitement among fans on social media. See it below:

Eetha features Shraddha Kapoor in the lead role, portraying the life and struggles of Vithabai — an artist who made immense contributions to the traditional Marathi folk art form, Tamasha. This marks Shraddha’s first full-fledged biographical role, and sources suggest she has been preparing extensively to capture the authenticity of the character.

The film is being produced by Maddock Films, the same banner behind several successful collaborations with Laxman Utekar. The shoot has already begun and the film is expected to hit theatres in early 2027. Chhaava, which marked Laxman's 3rd project with Maddock became the highest grossing Bollywood movie of 2025 with earnings of over Rs. 555 crore nett. Similarly, Shraddha's previous outing with Maddock has done a business of over Rs. 580 crore nett. So, it will be interesting to see where Eetha stands after the release.
