This Is What Late Actress Divya Bharti Had Said About Sridevi!

The empress of the Indian film industry - Sridevi passed away suddenly which has left the entire industry and her fans in a state of shock. The legendary actress passed away in UAE at the age of 54. Her sudden death brought back to mind the case of another Bollywood actress who went before her time - Divya Bharti.

Divya Bharti entered the industry when Sridevi was already an established actress and her uncanny resemblance to Sridevi got Divya a lot of attention. Divya was one of the most promising new actresses at that time and in a time span of around 2 years had delivered some major hits and was being touted to be the next big thing of Bollywood similar to Sridevi. Unfortunately Divya had an untimely death and a promising talent was taken away from the industry's midst.

During an interview when Divya was asked how she felt when she was asked about her resemblance to Sridevi, Divya expressed that she was thrilled and what a compliment it was to look so beautiful and good. When asked if she had ever met Sridevi, Divya shared that she had met Sridevi once at an airport and that they had exchanged pleasantries. Divya further articulated that Sridevi was so beautiful and that she was so tall, good looking and fairer than her and that also Sridevi had a clear complexion unlike her who had a pimpled face.

It would be interesting to note that Sridevi passed away just a day before Divya's birth anniversary which falls on 25th February. Another interesting piece of information is that initially Divya Bharti was supposed to do the role which Sridevi eventually did in Laadla and apparently had even shot major portions for the film. However due to Divya's untimely demise, Sridevi stepped in and went on to do the role in the film. The rest as they say is history!
