Actor Kunal Kapoor was recently spotted in two films, in small cameo appearances. The first was in Bachna Ae Haseeno and the second was in last week's release, Welcome To Sajjanpur. But this is one actor who does not feel insecure about his career and is quite bindaas about his two cameos.
Welcome To Sajjanpur was produced by a friend of Kunal's, Chetan Motiwalla. So it was a given that he would do something in the film. Since there was no other role left, he agreed to play Amrita Rao's husband in the film, a two-minute walk-on part. The actor admits that he also fell in love with the script and wanted to be a part of the movie. But the most compelling reason was to be able to act in a Shyam Benegal movie. Kunal, like lots of other actors, has been an admirer of Benegal for a long. So it was like a dream come true for him. The actor is not afraid of being typecast as a cameo specialist. The offers might come pouring in, he says, but the final choice still remains his to accept or reject the offers. He also feels that he is fine financially, hence there is no desperation behind his signing of films. The actor's next full-length appearance is in Lamhaa, where he shares screen space with Sanjay Dutt and Bipasha Basu. The shoot for the film is expected to begin in end October.
