After winning laurels in film festivals like Pittsburgh 3 River Festival, Stony Brook Festival in New York and Dances with Films, Los Angeles, Award winning NRI Director Kruti Majumdar's ?The Memsahib? garnered quite some good responses at IFFI, Goa. Many people had to turn back disappointed as the auditorium was full when the screening happened!

Written, Directed and Produced by Kruti herself along with Dana Offenbach, the film stars Emily Hamilton, Parveen Dabbas, Swetta Keswani, Murli Sharma, Glen Fitzgerald, Denzil Smith and many others.

The film centers on Emily, a young Memsahib who discovers and comes to terms with her new life, as a wife and a princess in a foreign land ? India 1850's. But their world is drifting towards revolution, and when differences of resolve ignite between the prince (Parveen Dabbas) and his fellow Noblemen Kishore Thakkar played by (Murli Sharma), betrayal is close at hand. Swetta Keswani plays Emily's sister-in-law and confidante who helps her to adjust to the ways of the royal life.

Born in Rajkot, Kruti has been associated with many interesting and noteworthy films like ?The Journey? and ?Daddy Cool?, and now she brings her film ?The Memsahib? to the shores of India. She creatively draws on experiences from both cultures, while at the same time proudly swearing allegiance to the beauty of her homeland.

Taking a pragmatic look at eastern philosophies and after winning hearts in Los Angeles and New York, we are sure ?The Memsahib? has definitely lefts its mark on the Indian Audiences!
