Ketan Mehta Reveals Why He Cast Nawazuddin Siddiqui For 'Manjhi-The Mountain Man'

Nawazuddin Siddiqui is earning rave reviews for his performance in Ketan Mehta's Manjhi-The Mountain Man and the director recently revealed his reasons for casting Nawazuddin in the lead role.

When asked for his reasons for signing up Nawaz to play the protagonist, Ketan revealed that he wanted Nawaz to play Dashrath Manjhi because he was quite impressed with the intensity in Siddiqui's eyes and felt that the actor would do justice to the role. Mehta also added that they shot for the film at the actual location where Manjhi had carved a path through a mountain in Gaya, Bihar.

Apart from Nawaz, the film also starred Radhika Apte, Tigmanshu Dhulia, Pankaj Tripathi and others.
