Filmmaker Karan Johar had earlier announced that he will be making a film on Amish Tripathi’s bestseller The Immortals Of Meluha and the director claims that the film will be a game changer for Dharma Productions. At the cover page launch of the third edition of Tripathi’s Shiva’s trilogy, The Oath Of the Vayuputra’s, KJo stated that he has finally assembled a team for the film and that this movie will be Dharma’s biggest challenge, up till now.

“Internally we have gone through the processes of finding out who the perfect team will be to write this film because adapting this book into a script and putting it out on celluloid, is really a daunting task. It’s not a film you can commission to a writer and it will be ready in two or three months. It probably will be the biggest challenge Dharma Productions has ever taken on so we needed to get it right. Recently we zeroed in on in what we believe may be the potential team for ‘The Immortals Of Meluha’,” he said at the cover page launch.

“There are lots of verticals that are involved, the work is in progress, I had a big meeting yesterday and we have these meetings periodically because this film is a passion project, it’s not just another film, it’s a game changer for Dharma Production. If we manage to make ‘The Immortals of Meluha’ and put it up in the best cinematic way and create a franchise of it cinematically, I think it will be a first for any production house in the country,” he added.

'The Immortal’s Of Meluha' was followed by The Secret Of The Nagas and the third edition of the trilogy is yet to be launched.
