Actress Kangna Ranaut, who played the female lead in recently released Shootout At Wadala was conspicuous in her absence during the promotions of the film, where the makers chose to focus on the three item songs and John Abraham.
Now, in a candid interview to a daily, Kangs claims that she wanted to promote the film too, but she did not want to go out of her way to get publicity as she felt that if Ekta Kapoor and Sanjay Gupta did not want her, then she shouldn't put herself out there. Kangna however added that she is not angry with the makers for this as she wants to focus her energies on those who want her.
In Shootout At Wadala, Kangna played the role of Manya Surve's love interest. The film, which was based on S. Hussain Zaidi's book 'Dongri To Dubai', also starred John Abraham, Anil Kapoor, Manoj Bajpayee, Sonu Sood, Tusshar Kapoor and others.
