Emergency, starring Kangana Ranaut in the lead role as Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, has managed to maintain a lead over Aaman Devgan and Ajay Devgn's period drama Azaad. Unfortunately, both films are expected to turn into disasters at the Indian box office.

Kangana's Emergency had a low weekend with Rs. 8.75 crore nett, starting with a low collection on opening day. The film collected Rs. 2 crore nett on day one, followed by a 50% jump on day two. On Sunday, the film earned approx. 3.75 crore nett, bringing its weekend total close to the Rs. 9 crore nett mark. The film is aiming to hit 20 crore nett in lifetime collections, unless a miracle occurs that elevates the film to a higher level.
