Shahid Kapoor is riding high on the success of his latest release Kabir Singh, which is a remake of South super hit Arjun Reddy. Now, we hear that Karan Johar is planning to remake a Telugu film with Shahid in the lead role.

Reportedly, Karan Johar has clenched the remake rights of Nani starrer Jersey, which released in April this year. The sports drama revolves around a cricketer, who leaves the sport, due to health concerns and returns years later to make a place in the Indian cricket team, to be able to fulfill the promise that he made to his son.

If reports are to be believed, then Johar is keen to cast Shahid Kapoor in the remake. However neither the actor nor the filmmaker has confirmed or denied the reports, yet. With Kabir Singh performing well at the box-office, Shahid becomes an obvious and commercially viable choice.

Directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, Kabir Singh has earned Rs. 88.37 crore till now and is expected to cross the 100 crore mark today.
