Director Kabir Khan is not in the mood to make a much-anticipated sequel to Bajrangi Bhaijaan, putting an end to speculation about his involvement. The 2015 original, which starred Salman Khan, was a massive success both critically and commercially, playing a major role in redefining emotionally driven storytelling in mainstream Bollywood.

While the sequel has been in development, with screenwriter K.V. Vijayendra Prasad reportedly working on the script, Kabir Khan has chosen not to return to the director’s chair. The filmmaker is known for being selective with sequels, often expressing that he prefers stories with fresh perspectives rather than continuations of past successes. A report in Peeping Moon says that Khan is uncertain about Bajrangi Bhaijaan 2 because the expectations for the sequel would be too high to match.

The announcement marks a significant shift for the project, as Kabir Khan’s direction was widely considered a key element in the original film’s emotional depth and cultural impact. Salman Khan is still expected to reprise his iconic role, but the question remains whether Salman will proceed without Kabir or put an end to Bajrangi Bhaijaan 2. 

As fans eagerly await more updates, the focus now turns to whether Bajrangi Bhaijaan 2 can capture the same magic without the creative vision of Kabir Khan. The project remains in development, with more announcements likely in the coming months. Recently, Salman heard the basic idea from the writer K.V. Vijayendra Prasad and asked him to develop the story, but with Khan's reluctance, things do not stand on a positive side. Reportedly, Salman is instead moving ahead with an Apoorva Lakhia movie. However, there is no official word on the same yet.
