The Aurangabad bench of the Bombay High Court has directed the makers of upcoming legal satire Jolly LLB 2 to file a reply to the petition filed by a lawyer on the grounds that the film seeks to mock the judiciary.
In the petition, the advocate, one Ajay Waghmare was quoted as saying that it's a "deliberate attempt to malign the reputation of the Indian legal profession." Not only has Waghmare taken offence to the film's title, he has also expressed his disapproval of some scenes in the trailer in which Akshay Kumar (dressed in lawyer's suit) is seen dancing around the court premises, playing a game of cards in the court's corridor and jumping on the judge's podium to argue with him.
Directed by Subhash Kapoor, Jolly LLB 2 also stars Huma Qureshi, Annu Kapoor, Saurabh Shukla and others. The film is slated to release on February 10.
