There have been legendary villains like Gabbar <Sholay>, Mogambo <Mr. India>, Shakaal <Shaan> and Dr. Dang <Karma> over the years, each one of them being more menacing than the regular baddies that have arrived in dozens during last four decades. What has been a common factor between each one of them is the fact that they have worked with brains, instead of the muscle power.

Now same holds true for Kevin Pereira in Rocky Handsome.

"Yes, that's the name of the villain in the John Abraham starrer," informs our source, "This character is ultra-menacing because he thinks with his brains, rather than allowing his emotions to do the talking. He doesn't believe in knee-jerk reactions; he defeats his adversaries with due deliberation. He doesn't kick or punch; he plays mind games and brings them on the knees. You won't find him on the field growling; he would let his men do the job while he formulates plans to come triumph."

The character is played by director Nishikant Kamat, and since he is the closest to it considering the time he has spent in putting it together on paper, he knew that Kevin Pereira had to be different from the rest.

"Of course, it would be sacrilege to compare him with legendary villains like Shakaal or Dr. Dang. They are once-in-a-lifetime phenomenon. However, the traits have certainly been adopted so very well by Nishikant. He has done a phenomenal job in the film," says producer Sunir Kheterpal.

As they say, victory of a protagonist is all the more credible when the opponent in the ring is at least as strong, if not stronger. This is what made John Abraham, the central protagonist of the film, quite pleased with the results in front of the camera.

"For someone who works with his brain instead of the body, the dangerous is even more exponential," says John, "This is what you get with Nishi's interpretation of Kevin Pereira. Just the way he looks at you brings a shiver in your spine. When you see him on screen, you realize that he is terror."

The terror unfolds on screen today, once Rocky Handsome - which is produced by John Abraham and Sunir Kheterpal (of Azure Entertainment) releases all over.
